What those are amazing pieces of art. The steady hand the artist must have is incredible to say the least. Thanks for sharing.

I too would be interested to hear if you were able to purchase Mr. Callesen's artwork. I am a freelance writer, researching this email hoax for an article and would like to speak with anyone who purchased artwork as a result of this type of publicity. Initially, and through the email these images were identified as part of a contest put on by Hirshhorn Museum of Modern Art in Washington, D.C. And it hasn't been until recently, through blog updates/corrections like this one that Mr. Callesen has gotten proper credit for creating all the artwork displayed. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Chad,

The best advice I can give is to go to the artist's website, http://www.petercallesen.com/index/index2.html and email the artist directly. His contact information is at the bottom of the about page. If you are able to purchase one, let us know how much they go for; I'm curious. Good luck!

I also received this forward and I am trying to do some research as to how I can acquire one of these pieces? I am 28 years old and would like to purchase my first piece of art. Could you help??? I would really appreciate it and I am not inquiring on the piece from a religion standpoint, I just happen to like the bear track piece!

Rachel,

I looked on the artist's website and that one is called Closet. I don't think the appearance of a cross was intentional, just necessary to create the closet. I thought it was a little creepy which is why I didn't include it in my post. Monsters in closets are scary and I don't like to think about them! Hope that helps.

I also fixed the link to the artist's website, so it's working now. Sorry about that.

I received an e-mail with pics of these art pieces, in a recent e-mail. They are quite amazing. But I'd like to inquire about one, that I had some trouble with. It's number 14. I'd like to know if I'm 'interpreting' what I'm seeing correctly or not. I was unable to find out more details, about the artist, and the title of his/her entry (which may shed light). Is that a cross? And what is the structure at the center of the cross? Is that meant to be a 'church' or a 'tabernacle'?

For you see, if it is a cross, with demonic creatures coming forth, I would view it as offensive for it's anti-Christian nature. More specifically, and as bad, if not worse, if it's a tabernacle in the center, I'd call it anti-Catholic and anti-Eucharistic.

As a Catholic, I was concerned with this piece, and wanted to find out if I'm wrong.....or not.

Thanks for any further information.
