I read this to my Pre-K students as they are getting ready for nap time... it's a wonderful book and definitely puts the children in a calm state of mind! =)

This grew to be one of our absolute most treasured bedtime reads. It's actually falling apart now. :(

My girls love this book too and it's such a soothing bedtime story. I'm with you, at first I really didn't care for the pictures and such, but it grew on me. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Vanilla Joy!
Found you via Tip Junkie today. Great blog! Love the variety!

Goodnight Moon was a bedtime staple for our first son, who is now seven. We read it at least three times a week, alternating with "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak.

A funny story: Once night when Quinn was about three, we (as you suggested) were reading the author and illustrator names. We were trying to encourage him to read (say) it along with us. So we started "by Clement...?" and Quinn completed it by saying "Tine". So sweet.

Actually, another sweetness. At the end of Where The Wild Things Are, Max returns to his room "where he found his supper waiting for him. And it was still hot". Again, we were encouraging Quinn to complete the sentence, and he got the two stories mixed up so instead said "And it was still MUSH."

Funny. We JUST read this. Like a minute ago. It's a classic. And a good bedtime/calm-down book.

And, hey, I gave you a prize! Check my blog for details. ^_^

This book sounds just wonderful. I'm a bit concerned about the images though. I have particular trouble with red and greens like that. They make me whoosy!
