Favorite Craft Magazines

I’ve never been much of a magazine person, but that has recently changed. I am now the proud owner of magazine subscriptions, and there are plenty of others that I check out from the library.

One of the reasons I have recently embraced magazines is Northridge Media. They are the creators of a handful of specialized crafting magazines that I absolutely love. Their style is my style, their interests are my interests. Where have you been all my life?

My top two favorites are Cards and Simply Handmade, although I love Scrapbook Trends also. I think these magazines are some of the best in the industry for one major reason – they have hardly any advertisements. There is a new and different idea on almost every single page! They have so few advertisements, they are really more like books than magazine and well worth their price.

Whenever I need to make a card, I flip to my Cards magazine, find something I like, and get to work! These magazines give me so many ideas, I rarely find myself not knowing what to do with the supplies in front of me.

And Simply Handmade is full of beautiful seasonal crafts of all kinds – fabric, paper, food, everything! I have the December issue, and I can’t wait until Christmas this year to use some of their fabulous ideas for decorations, ornaments, and gifts.

Simply Handmade has a blog – check it out to see some great ideas. And visit their Idea Gallery for more layouts, projects, and recipes.
