I am making a fleece baby blanket one side blue with clouds. back side solid white. Was having trouble getting the two sides exactly even to hand sew a blanket sititch using purchased wide satin blanket bias tape. Your take on installing the bias tape is perfect. Certainly solved my problem. Thanks

The largest size is easiest to work with. If you're binding something small, you'd want to use smaller bias tape, but if you're doing a regular sized blanket the largest size (which is 2" but makes 1" bias tape I think) is perfect. Good luck!

Your best bet is to make it yourself. I've never seen bias tape made from anything other than solid colored broad cloth in stores. You can purchase a Clover bias tape maker at JoAnn for a few dollars and then you can make whatever you need. Good luck!

I haven't yet made any fleece blankets but this makes it look so easy. Now that I have some bias tape makers I will try this out.

Well done! Handmade baby blankets are definitely special and make great gifts. I like the fabric you chose a lot. Looks like a blanket that a little one would hold onto for years.

Do you make your own bias tape? I noticed in the crib bumper post that you used 10 yards of bias tape. That's a lot of bias tape!!!

My mom used a nice wide satin bias tape to edge some fleece for baby blankets, they turned out fabulous! Just as good as store-bought! No, better, because a lot more love was put into them!

This is much better than the tied version and seems easy enough. It has to a good money saver compared to buying. With the winters in the mountains here we use tons of blankets. Thanks for the idea.
