Getting Kids To Eat

getting kids to eat

Elliot will eat anything if it’s been stabbed by a toothpick, so this is a great tip for getting your kids to eat. Lots of times we have to make eating a game for him to cooperate, so we have to be creative.

After he’s finished with the toothpick, Elliot will often break them into little pieces and make Ts, Hs, As, and other linear letters.

If meal time is a struggle, make it fun!

Really? I think toothpicks are kinda dangerous especially at this age. My 3 yr old would likely try to stab something or someone with that. OUCH! not to mention if he bites without paying attention.
Interesting concept but they do have those colored ROUND Sticks out those might be a better option

My older toddler will eat anything period. From the moment we started her on solids, it was a very simple “open mouth, insert food” attitude with her. She has her days of begging for ice cream for breakfast, but for the most part fruits, veggies, whole grains and healthy dinners never even cause a discussion.

I’m fearing a bigger problem with my one-year-old. She turns her nose up at anything green. Really, at anything that does not taste like sugar, and often cannot be bothered to eat at all! I think we’re going to have to get a lot more creative with her! Right now, fun-shaped utensils and letting her poke things with a straw instead of a fork are doing the trick, but I think it’s going to be a long game with her.
