Grilled Cheese

I really like cheese. I’ve heard it’s one of those foods that is highly addictive…I believe it… I also really like toast. So here is a tribute to two of my favorite foods…together…in simple, kid-friendly, sandwich fashion.

Sometimes you need something quick for dinner, don’t you? During these times, I look to the old standby, Grilled Cheese, which make a wonderful meal, especially with any kind of soup or salad. With only a few ingredients, you could make this on the fly any time, so it’s a great for last minute purposes also.

Kraft recently came out with a new 2% Singles product that I really like to use in my grilled cheese sandwiches. Kraft Singles melt so good between those slices of whole wheat bread… YUM!

Grilled cheese make great lunches or snacks also, so don’t forget about them! And to add a little something special, throw in some tomato, green pepper, onion, bacon, sandwich meat, whatever you like. Just make sure there is cheese surrounding it all so it melts together. Delicious!

We made these for lunch one year for the young women at girl’s camp. Who would have thought that something so simple would be such a hit? They loved them and had a great time making them with the griddle outside. Highly recommend them for camping-they hit the spot!!!

Our family loves grilled cheese. During the cool months it is our standard Saturday lunch along with homemade cream of tomato soup. Quite frequently we have it for a simple dinner too–also with the tomato soup. They just seem to go really well together.
