How to Fold a Fitted Sheet

Today I’m going to teach you a little something that should help you keep your linen closet a bit more sightly and orderly – how to properly fold a fitted sheet!

Those fitted sheets can be a real pain, but not if you know how to fold them properly. I have produced a short video demonstration to help you fold your fitted sheets neatly.

How easy was that?!?

Below I’ve added some pictures and written instructions for each step on how to fold your fitted bed sheets:

how to fold a fitted sheet

Bring the wrong sides of two corners together (the two corners along the long edge of the sheet) and tuck one inside the other so the seams are touching and the fabric is wrong sides together.

Holding what you’ve folded so far with your left hand inside the corners, bring the next adjacent corner on the top side up and match that seam with the other two.

Bring the final corner up to match the other three so that all four corners are tucked inside one another.

Lay the sheet on the floor and straighten into a rectangle.

Finish folding/rolling according to your preference.

Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou! my young womens president showed me that a long time ago, and I had forgotten. I have been getting frustrated lately because I just couldn’t figure it out.

You just made my day!:)

I saw Martha Stewart do that on her show once. I think that was the best thing I ever learned from her. I’ve taught both my DIL’s how to do it too. Thanks.

I think I learned a long time ago from Martha also, although I don’t exactly remember. She does teach so many useful things so that’s probably where I first learned!

I also remember Martha Stewart doing this once, yet every time I try, it is not the same as hers lol. small sheets are easy but the large queen/king harder. I will have to practice this next time I do wash. thanks for tip.

That’s the way I fold my sheets after years of needing help from the kids. I really like your elastic tutorial for my sheets. The elastic wears out first. So I will repair them with your help. Thank you.

I thought I was folding them the correct way, but they never look as nice as yours. I was definitely missing a step. Thanks so much for the hints. :)
