Soap Dish Containers

soap dish container

I love finding new uses for household items. We love to use plastic travel soap dishes for containers for all sorts of things. They are the perfect size for crayons, chalk, playing cards, magnets, little craft supplies, snacks, and much more. The best part about soap dish containers is that you can throw them in your diaper bag or purse and keep everything organized and together.

What household items do you use in new ways?

This is a great idea! I use ziplock bags a lot but then sometimes whatever is in them can get smashed and they’re not always re-useable so the soap container is much more green friendly and wont let anything smash! And they’re cheap too! Thanks!

The soap dish things also make great on-the-go first aid kits! I have several and love the ease of it. Also for holding things like Barbie shoes, icing tips, and Pokemon cards (heaven help me).

I do that old magazine holder out of cereal boxes thing, have custom kitchen drawer storage by Velveeta, and am trying to make a vase out of old slinkies – but it hasn’t happened yet so I don’t know if I can count it.

I like the idea of using it for crayons, especially helpful when waiting at a restaurant. I use a lot of household containers for storage. Sometimes the container an item comes in really influences my decision about purchasing it because I think of how I can reuse the container. I use everything from baby food jars for crafts. I also cut milk cartons and 2 liter bottles to make baskets out of them. Plastic containers are reused to store dry goods like pasta, especially since we buy in bulk.

Recently, I started to carefully open boxed food goods and then use clear packaging to tape it back so my daughter has a wonderful assortment of “groceries” for her kitchen or when she plays grocery shopping.

Like Micha B, I’ve used those soap dishes for first aid kits as well. They’re perfect to store in the car as well – just in case of an emergency. I love the idea of storing crayons in it, though! Thanks for the tip!

Office binder clips are used as chip clips or to close the tops of cereal bags at my house.

We use re-use our old diaper wipes containers. Crayons in the big ones and stickers in the travel size. Great minds think alike:)
