MY REVIEW
If you know only one thing about me, it’s that I love to play games. I’ve always loved games, and I recently got to try out 3 games from ThinkFun that I know I would have loved as a kid.
S’Match
This is a great game for kids ages 4 and up. It’s a fun variation on the classic memory game with a few more rules and a really fun spinner that tells you what to do. Just like memory, you try to find matches. The difference is that with S’Match, the spinner tells you what kind of match you’re looking for.
There are 3 classifications of cards: colors, numbers, or categories. The spinner will tell you what kind of match you’re supposed to find, two matching colors, numbers, or categories.
For example, if the spinner lands on color, the player makes a match if they choose any two cards of the same color even if the pictures aren’t the same.
This is a little more challenging than regular memory and helps kid learn how to match in more than just one way, and it’s lots of FUN!
Clever Castle & Hoppers Junior
These two games are basically the same just with a different theme and are for kids ages 5-7. These two games are great to get kids thinking logically. Both games come with a playing board and a clue book.
With Clever Castle, the player’s challenge is to use the clues in the clue book to logically place 9 party guests in the correct room. The clue book has 40 challenges that range from easy to hard, so kids can practice their logic skills and eventually be able to do the hard puzzles. Each clue tells where some of the guests are and using that information, the player can figure out where the other guests should go.
Hoppers Junior is similar in that it also comes with a playing board and clue book. The clue book tells you how to set up the board and your job is to get rid of all the frogs until only the red one is left. There are another 40 challenges ranging from easy to hard in the Hoppers Junior clue book.
Clever Castle and Hoppers Junior are both great games to keep kids’ minds and hands busy, especially in the car. We have a road trip coming up and we will be taking these games with us to stave off boredom.
ThinkFun has lots of other great educational games for all ages, including adult games and puzzles, and some unique and fun puzzle games as well. Visit ThinkFun.com to check out their selection of games!

My oldest son’s primary love language is quality time, so he loves to play games. I am waiting for the game shelves to fall of the wall. We have the rush hour game and it is one of his favorites, great game to get kids thinking. Our home schooling materials are critical thinking based, so these would fit right. I might have to buy them even if I don’t win.
