We’re Okay

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for JOHNSON’s Baby. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

Do you ever wonder if you’re doing okay as a mom?

Motherhood really is pretty much how I thought it would be but it’s still a lot to handle every day, especially with my young children who need so much of me. Sometimes I feel like I’m totally blowing it and then something will happen to make me feel like I’m doing okay, my kids are okay, I am enough.

Most of the time those moments that tell me I’m doing okay as a mom come from my kids.

It happens when Elliot helps out his baby brother or makes his bed or cleans up his own breakfast mess without being asked or when Gus asks a particularly thoughtful question and we’re able to sit down and have a really good talk about something basic but important.

It happens when I hear Elliot reading to his brothers or singing a song about Jesus without any prompting from me.

It happens when they take care of each other and stand up for each other at the park or a play date.

It also happens in spiritual moments when I am praying for help to get through a difficult day. I get a peaceful feeling that I know comes from God that even though today is hard, it’s worth it and I can do it again tomorrow.

It happens just often enough to strengthen my resolve and keep trucking through another day.

I absolutely feel that motherhood is a divine calling, it’s my responsibility and joy to raise these children that my husband and I have brought into this world. There is nothing so important in this world as being a mother and that is the truth.

Along with my kids, the wonderful women in my life help keep me going when the Mother Strength runs low and the days and weeks are hard. I always have my mother and my sisters, who are also mothers, to commiserate with and draw strength from and I couldn’t do it without them.

JOHNSON’S believes in us and supports all of us too and that’s why they launched JOHNSON’S Baby CARES, to help new mothers of babies in particular.

JOHNSON’S Baby believes every new mom needs access to essential resources to help their babies thrive. JOHNSON’S Baby CARES has partnered with SAVE THE CHILDREN to provide  parenting skills and strategies for parents to build a strong foundation for their babies, including the social support and encouragement new moms need.

JOHNSON’S Baby “Care Cards” are a new way to share positive messages of encouragement to your  favorite moms everywhere.

You can join the effort by creating and sending a digital Care Card to a special mom in your life on Facebook.

For every card sent, shared, or liked, JOHNSON’S Baby will donate $1.00 to Save the Children.

Who will you give a Baby Cares card to? Think of someone who needs a little extra support and encouragement and send a card to strengthen that person AND raise money for new moms and babies everywhere.

And remember, you’re doing better than you think you are! You’re doing just fine, keep up the great work!!
