Fight Cold and Flu with Clorox

We’re spending every possible waking moment indoors with our single digit temperatures and the germs are everywhere. It’s that time of year when I start wondering, “When was the last time everyone in our whole family was healthy?” It seems too long ago to remember.

So I started being a little more vigilant about disinfecting and sanitizing.  Cause I’m sick of being sick and I know my kids are too.

Clorox Disinfecting Wipes are one of those great all-purpose disinfecting cleaners I like to use for lots of different jobs, but right about now I’m using them to scrub door knobs, light switches, hand rails, shopping cart handles, and table tops to help us get and stay healthy for the rest of this miserable winter.
With all the flu that’s going around right now, I’m paying attention to all those germ hot spots and trying to keep things a little cleaner.

This is what I discovered on the handrails leading upstairs. I had no idea… That right there is one year’s worth (probably since this time last winter) of little boy grubby hand germs. I think I see the flu right there on the corner…Yikes.

 

Besides the seasonal sick germs, I am constantly trying to keep our bathrooms sanitized and fresh. The wipes kill 99.9% of germs without bleach so they’re perfectly safe for my 5 year old to use on his own.

Staying healthy throughout these long winter months can be done by following some simple guidelines:

  • Wash hands frequently with warm water and soap
  • Disinfect germ hot spots – areas like door knobs, light switches, faucets, and other frequently touched items/areas
  • Cover your cough – into the elbow is our favorite method
  • Be healthy – exercise, eat right, drink lots of water, and get plenty of sleep

  28. I’m all about the wipes. I started using them when my daughter was just born, it only takes one hand to clean rather than getting a spray and paper towels out to clean this made it so much easier to clean surfaces quickly.

  43. On the weekends, I wipe down the bathrooms, phones, remote controls, doors, door knobs, light switches and mop with diluted Clorox Bleach. I use the Clorox Disinfecting wipes daily for the kitchen and any other place I feel is germy! I even carry a canister of wipes to wipe down my shopping cart. Love the stuff!

  46. I use quit a few Clorox products around our home! We love the wipes, the stain remover spray, the color booster detergent, the anywhere hard surface sanitizing spray, the toilet bowl automatic cleaner discs and the toilet bowl cling gel cleaner! We have 3 littles around here so I try and keep things clean and sanitized on a daily basis! nlevdan3 at yahoo dot com

  52. I use Clorox wipes all the time, but I also always carry a little sandwich bag of them when it’s time for a diaper change. Even though I use a pad, I always feel better about wiping it down first.

  59. I use the Clorox® Sensitive Choice Gloves to do the cleaning, & their great. Plus we use the high efficiency Bleach throughout the entire house. It does the job!

  69. Clorox Wipes! My 2 1/2 yr old son has Leukemia..and my husband often jokes we should get stock in the company because we buy them by the CASE. When you have a very sick immuno-suppressed child with a fatal disease, ANY germs are not good germs. I have confidence in these wipes, and every Monday is toy cleaning day, and we use them every day for counters, table, high chair for our 12 mo old, wiping doorknobs, the fridge, anything that our son comes in contact with. In fact it is almost embarrassing that we go through a canister a week or more. We can’t be too clean for him as with no immune system due to his cancer/chemotherapy even common cold germs can be fatal to him. These are such a godsend to us..just pop in open, pull it out, wipe it down, and relax a little that we are wiping out the nasty stuff! Hands down(no pun intended) the best invention for cancer parents!

  90. I use the clorox disinfecting wipes ALL the time not only at home, but at work! It’s increasingly important at this time of year, especially when many people you work with may not be as cautious about the spread of unwanted germs!
