3 of My Favorite Things

If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! There are three things that I want everyone to know about, not because they are paying me or giving me free stuff (because they’re not), but because I have searched long and hard for these treasures.

Our water is really [...]

Crafting with the Crafter’s Companion

Well I’ve been having lots of fun coming up with little samples to demonstrate all the cool features of the Crafter’s Companion. Like I said yesterday, there is so much to do, I haven’t had time to delve in too deep. Here are three things I’ve been able to do with the Ultimate Crafter’s Companion [...]

Favorite Craft Magazines

I’ve never been much of a magazine person, but that has recently changed. I am now the proud owner of magazine subscriptions, and there are plenty of others that I check out from the library.
One of the reasons I have recently embraced magazines is Northridge Media. They are the creators of a handful of specialized [...]

Cuttlebug

Next to the Cricut, the Cuttlebug is one of my favorite scrapbooking/cardmaking tool.
Embossing is what I use my Cuttlebug for mostly – the added texture gives each little card or page something special. And Provo Craft has bunches of beautiful embossing folders to choose from. At only a few dollars each, I want to own [...]

Another Christmas Idea…

So as much as I love scrapbooking, I just really don’t have time to do it. I’ve discovered that I can only do one or two things at a time – I can either blog or exercise or scrapbook or have a clean house. (I exercised for the first time yesterday in a looong time. [...]

Scrapbooking with the Sizzix Sidekick

One of the best parts about scrapbooking are all the fun tools you get to use in the process. I love tools, especially those that I get to operate a little bit, like the Sizzix Sidekick. I love that it’s a “manual” tool – it makes me feel like I’m being useful.
I love that the [...]

Yummaliciousness

This dessert is the best. It’s one of those that I just can’t control myself with. Forget intuitive eating, and meet Scotcheroos.
I grew up eating Scotcheroos, a family favorite in desserts. I think I’ve mentioned before how my family is really into dessert and we have to have it at least once [...]

Jott Is A New Favorite Thing

My husband is an internet marketer, so he hears about all these cool and new things online. One such cool and new thing is Jott.com where you can call a phone number and dictate a message to yourself or anyone in your contact list.

Basically, you create a Jott account using your phone number. [...]

Favorite Things Recap

Telling you about my favorite things was a lot of fun!  There are many many more things that I love, so we’ll do this again.  But for now, here’s my Christmas Favorite Things Recap:
1.  The Complete Book of Rhymes, Songs, Poems, Fingerplays, and Chants by Jackie Silberg and Pam Schiller
2.  Olympus FE-280 Digital Camera
3.  Ticket [...]

Favorite Thing #6: Movies

While I am not an avid TV watcher, I do like movies occasionally. Movies are great for a couple reasons:

no commercials
you can skip the smutty scenes
you can watch the good ones over and over

We got something old and something new: Sense and Sensibility (1995) and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix [...]

Favorite Thing #5: Rowenta “Effective” Iron

I don’t know how many times over the last several years that I have thrown up my hands in frustration over a cheap iron. No more. For Christmas this year I got a Rowenta “Effective” iron that is fabulous.
This iron is in the mid-low price range for Rowenta irons, but I think it’s [...]

Favorite Thing #4: Deceptively Delicious Cookbook

My mom got my sister and I this cookbook by Jessica Seinfeld, who developed the recipes after enduring constant battles with her children to eat their vegetables.  She says in the introduction that the idea for this cookbook came about when she was making a sweet potato puree for the baby and macaroni and cheese [...]

Favorite Thing #3: Ticket to Ride Board Game

We love games in our family. Both my husband and I grew up in game playing families and so we’ve carried that tradition on together.
The newest addition to our collection is Ticket to Ride, which has several different versions. I was only aware of two, but apparently there are four different versions: [...]

Favorite Thing #2: Olympus FE-280 Digital Camera

We also got a digital camera for Christmas. My first digital camera was an Olympus and it took great pictures. This camera is of the same great quality but has a few more features.
This camera has a 2.5″ LCD screen on the back which is HUGE! It’s awesome for both taking and [...]
