After 1 month with my new Frigidaire Affinity front loading washer and dryer set, I can say that I am still extremely impressed with the quiet work it does. That’s still my favorite thing.

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Frigidaire Affinity. Since they arrived on Tuesday, we’ve been spending quality time getting to know and appreciate one another and honestly, I cannot think of 2 friends that could make my life easier than these babies!

The NASA Blast exhibit is open at Thanksgiving point, and they have new displays set up all over. We’ve been to the Museum of Ancient Life several times where the Light Exhibit is stationed with all kinds of hands on scientific experiments with light, color, space, etc. My boys love the change!

Next month I’ll be experimenting with cast iron cookware from CSN Stores and I’ll be sharing my results. CSN Stores has over 200 online stores with everything from dutch ovens to LED lighting, and I’m excited to see how cast iron affects my cooking…but more on that later!

Gus is just starting to walk, and I have been really needing to get him some shoes but haven’t been able to ‘t find anything lightweight and soft enough for his little feet and body. Robeez are just what I was looking for! They are soft soled so they won’t interfere with his growing feet and super lightweight so he can still walk with them on.

The Tummy Tub was one of last week’s Black Friday giveaways, and I think it’s one of the greatest newborn products around. Bathing is one of my least favorite things about having a newborn because it’s hard to keep them warm and comfortable in traditional baby bathtubs.
The Tummy Tub is so great because it simulates the womb and is a familiar environment for a baby – it’s wet, warm, and kind of cramped! It helps babies to make the strange transition from being in to being out.
It’s so easy to fill up with water because it’s just like a bucket. It’s easy to carry when full and doesn’t spill out everywhere. It’s also just the right size and shape to fit on the table or in the kitchen sink so you don’t have to bend over and kill your back.
And it uses very little water. We fill ours up about 8-10 inches – that doesn’t seem like it would be enough, but when you put baby in there, the water level raises up to mid chest which is perfect.

We had the pleasure of eating at Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill last night and it was good food and a fun evening. We haven’t been to the Gateway in a while, and other than finding a parking spot, it was fun to walk around and hear the street musicians and see all the fun shops.
Z’Tejas serves Southwestern food, which I learned is different from Mexican food in a few subtle ways. First of all, Southwestern food comes from the Southwestern region of the United States (obviously…), so bits from Louisiana Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and even California.
Second, as far as I can tell Southwestern food is all about peppers. Almost every dish had at least a couple different types of peppers and some of the chicken was flavored with the Jamaican “jerk” spice. Pumpkin seeds were another interesting ingredient in several of the dishes.
Our meal started out with some delicious cornbread with real kernels of corn and some sweet butter, which I loved! Honestly, when we’re thinking of a restaurant to go to, what they bring you to eat before you order holds some serious weight in our decision. I’ve had bread, chips and salsa, popcorn, and now cornbread, which I have to say is so unique and fabulous! I would go again just for the cornbread pre-appetizer.
We chose the Chile Pork Verde: tender pork simmered in tomatillos, Anaheim and serrano peppers, with melted Jack and cotija cheese, served with hot tortillas. Both the cornbread and the Chile Pork Verde were served to us in a little cast iron skillet, which seems very southwestern.

I have been going crazy getting all the dust and cobwebs out of my house with my handheld Oreck. There are several attachments, each perfect for a different job. Today I successfully cleaned all the corners in my stairs. I don’t know that I’ve done that since we moved here 3 years ago. Yikes!

I am an amateur photographer at best, but the Canon Rebel XSi is a professional camera so it makes me better than I actually am. I love the quality of the photos I’m able to take, and I have to give most of the credit to Canon for creating a user friendly camera that just takes professional quality photos.

Thanksgiving Point is one of the great things about the area we live in in Utah. Thanksgiving Point is a fabulous place that is “dedicated to providing guests one-of-a-kind, hands-on opportunity for discovery and an entertaining, educational experience in a variety of arts and sciences.” From my recent experience there, I can say that’s a pretty accurate statement!

Several years ago I was watching the Rosie O’Donnell show and she said something that I have never forgotten. She said, “Everyone has a story that will break your heart,” and it’s so true. Everyone does have a story that will break your heart and hopefully many more that won’t. We all have stories, some sad and others happy, and we have to write them down so that our stories don’t end when we die but carry our memories on to teach and inspire our posterity.

Most digital SLR cameras have the same basic shape – they’re comfortable to hold with grips in the right places and feel nice and heavy and natural in your hands.
I have been a Canon customer for a long time because in addition to the comfortable physical structure of their cameras, their interface is perfect. Once you’ve owned a Canon and familiarized yourself with it, you’re set.
