I am a pretty enthusiastic thrift shopper – I like the thrill of the hunt, the uncertainty, and reusing an item with plenty of wear left.
All winter long I looked for toddler snow boots and couldn’t find a single thing and now that it’s summer, they’re everywhere!

I’m always on the lookout for unique toys and children’s products, and I found one I absolutely love. The Rock and Roll Ball Track by HABA is a great child’s gift idea. It’s a bit pricey, but it will last through as many children as you’re up to having. It’s made from solid wood, comes with 4 multi-colored wooden balls, and has lots of unique bumps and noise makers for the balls to run into on their way down.

I wish I had some to give you…craft coupons, that is. But really this post is to make sure you know that Michaels accepts other major craft stores’ coupons. In Utah, that includes Roberts and Joann. I’m not sure if the other stores do the same, but I thought that was very useful to know.

Next to the Cricut, the Cuttlebug is one of my favorite scrapbooking/cardmaking tool.
Embossing is what I use my Cuttlebug for mostly – the added texture gives each little card or page something special. And Provo Craft has bunches of beautiful embossing folders to choose from. At only a few dollars each, I want to own them all…

My friend Marie is hosting her new boutique, Tom & Lucy’s Art Shoppe, in Utah this weekend. Marie is amazing and I’m sure her boutique will be too. If you’re in Utah this weekend (and not sick with the stomach flu), you should try and stop by. Here’s the info:

Christmas is coming up quick, and I don’t know about you, but I have no idea what I’m going to get my husband and son. Especially my son. I would never have thought that buying a few Christmas gifts for an 18 month old would be that hard, but… I just don’t know!

I am pretty consistently incensed at the price of kid’s shoes. I go to the store and think – ARE YOU SERIOUS? FOR KID’S SHOES!!! The prices are outrageous. I am a resourceful woman, however, and have come up with two perfectly acceptable solutions to the evil that is overpriced kid’s shoes.

We weren’t actually able to go pick raspberries yesterday. Sad. Fortunately, I called the place before we left and found out that the farm was closed because of rain so our raspberry/freezer jam party was postponed.
Something else exciting happened, though, and I learned a great…

Yesterday’s post got me excited to write about garage sale advice, so here are some of my ideas and strategy.
- Don’t buy something just because it’s cheap, but it because you need it. Buying things you don’t need doesn’t save you money.

You all know how I love bargain shopping, so I left the house at 8am on Saturday morning to wander about and hopefully discover some hidden treasure. This little gem is my Bargain of the Week. It’s a tailor’s ham, used for pressing curved areas that need shaping (like sleeves, darts, curved seams, etc.). I have been wanting one of these for quite some time now, only I don’t know of any place that carries them locally and I haven’t gotten desperate enough to just buy one online.

I took some clothes to a local clothing consignment shop to see what would come of it, and I was pleasantly surprised. Four or five of my tops sold and I made almost $13. This place is called Cozy Closet, and I’m going to take some more stuff to her this week.
