SEWING BITS AND PIECES ginger blossom fat quarter bundleTHE PRIZE

One reader will win a copy of Sewing Bits & Pieces: 35 Projects Using Fabric Scraps (Wiley Publishing) AND the Ginger Blossom Fat Quarter Collection (Michael Miller Fabrics), written and designed by Sandi Henderson!

MY REVIEW

Finally, some ideas to use up my closet full of scraps!

Sandi Henderson wrote this great book with 35 projects to use up those fabric scraps, and there are some projects that would make easy and inexpensive Christmas gifts!

I made the Sassy Hair Peony, which took a little over an hour to put together and is great to spice up any outing! The instructions are thorough with lots of pictures and drawings to help you along your way, so if you’re aren’t confident in your sewing abilities, this book is still great!

I also received a set of the Ginger Blossom fat quarters, with I used (along with some fabric I purchased) to make two small quilts (more on that below…) and with the scraps I started the adorable birthday party garland. I love how the flowers alternate with the triangles, and it’s going to be so fabulous when I’m finished!

Here are some other favorite projects from the book:

  4. Colorful Brick Road Skirt
  5. Mary Jane Slippers

Ginger Blossom

Michael Miller is the distributor of the fabulous Sandi Henderson fabrics, including the Ginger Blossom collection included in the giveaway today.

The collection has 19 different prints and they’re all so colorful and I could hardly bring myself to cut into any of them, as is my struggle with beautiful fabrics…

The Ginger Blossom collection includes two different color schemes, both of which I LOVE. I made a small lap sized tumbler quilt with the blues and greens. Aren’t those great colors?

With the pinks/greens/blues I made another small quilt. I think I love these colors even more!

Same great prints, different BEAUTIFUL colors. Michael Miller has a knack for great prints and beautiful colors. And the fabric is nice and thick, it feels very high quality and was WONDERFUL to work with. I’ve only had good experiences with Michael Miller.

Thanks to Michael Miller and Wiley Publishing for sponsoring this giveaway!

Okay, cannot resist this one. Hard to choose a favorite collection, but I like the cherries on the Farmer’s Market! Have to make some placemats and napkins with that one to brighten up my dining room.
