melissa and doug swivel train set giveaway

The winner of the train set is Kiersten! She said, “Oh boy. My little C would love any of the vehicle toys, but I think he’d love that train set with the swinging bridge the most of all. He’s obsessed with trains right now, and I haven’t even introduced Thomas the Train to him yet!”

Send an email to kelsey[at]vanillajoy[dot]com to claim your prize. Congrats!

THE PRIZE

One reader will win the following two wooden train sets from Melissa & Doug:

MY REVIEW

Wooden toy trains are as classic boy as you can get, and my 4 year old loves the constructing, destructing, driving, and crashing that is inevitably involved.

melissa and doug magnetic train sets

Like all their toys, the Melissa & Doug train sets are made of wood and are solid and nearly indestructible. To me, the wood is really a big deal. It just feels a little heavier and more natural, and I love it!

melissa and doug swivel train set

The Swivel Bridge Train Set comes with a 3-car train, a few trees, and a conductor. Each car is painted wood and has little magnetic connectors on the ends. The Zoo Animal Train Set also comes with a 3-car train, and two of the cars have little baskets and a little painted wooden animal that fits in each one. (That’s Gus’s favorite…but they’re all mixed together and the boys love it all!)

The Swivel Bridge set comes with plenty of curved and straight pieces of varying lengths, plus little track supports and ascending/descending track so there are some really cool track construction possibilities. Putting the whole thing is like a puzzle, which my boys love!

swivel bridge wooden toy train set

The Swivel Bridge Train Set comes with a wooden tunnel and a swivel bridge with gates that automatically open and close. Moving parts are always a huge hit with my boys, and Elliot has swiveled that thing to death!

Building fancy train tracks is something I can really get into, so it’s a great way to keep us all entertained together. All wooden railway sets are compatible, so the collecting can begin!

Thanks to Melissa & Doug for sponsoring today’s review and giveaway!

The Blossom Bright Sprinkler is ADORABLE! Reminds me of many days spent playing in the water when I was a child, and seeing my daughters enjoy it too. Now I have one granddaughter, and I look forward to seeing her dance in the spay of the water on a hot summer day!

I love getting your emails. We are a HUGE train family. All three of my kids play with them daily. Our latest Melissa and Doug favorites are the travel games in the car. They are wonderful. No pieces to come off and lose while traveling. We have hangman which is perfect for the early speller but hands down, the favorite in the car is the license plate game. They are always on the look out for new license plates from other states so they can flip them over. And very educational since they are getting their capital cities memorized in no time flat. Love it!!!
