{The winner of the Side Rider from Infantino is Emilie who said, “The front2back rider looks great too! This would be fantastic for my little guy who is 21 lbs. Thanks for the chance!”

Email your address to me at kelsey[at]vanillajoy[dot]com BEFORE WEDNESDAY to claim your prize. Thanks!}

Kids are always wanting to be carried, and this prize is the perfect solution!

THE PRIZE

infantino-side-rider

Giveaway #8 is for the Infantino Side Rider ($49.99). One reader will win this handy child carrier!

MY REVIEW

We used a front carrier with our first son, but really only when he was really little. A side carrier is a better option once the child gets a little heavier. Carrying 25 pounds right on your front isn’t the most comfortable thing in the world, and seriously…? What are hips for, anyway?!?

The Infantino Side Rider is a great carrier option for children 14-36 lbs. and it really does work comfortably for 30 lbs. and more. My son is about 30 lbs. and I was surprised at how comfortable this carrier is for him. I thought that there might be too much pressure on my neck, but I was impressed to find that the weight is well distributed between the shoulder and hip strap. Most of the weight is actually on your hip, which is just where it should be.

There’s only one thing I had a hard time with, and that was the initial set up. It took a little while to figure out how to adjust the straps correctly, but once I had them set, everything was great.

This carrier is made with memory foam, which means it will retain its shape and thickness for much longer. (We had a memory foam Cuddlebag for about 3 years and it stayed just as fluffy and huge after 3 years as it was brand new, so I’m a believer.) It’s also made with a breathable mesh to keep the air flowing and your child comfortable. There are pockets for your stuff, and also velcro to keep the excess strapping contained.

The Side Rider is a great extended wear carrier for around the house or running errands, especially if you have more than one child. You can carry the youngest without breaking your back and still have your hands free.

Whether you have a young and light or older and heavier child who still insists upon being carried, the Infantino Side Rider is a great solution.

The Euro Rider looks pretty neat. I like the support the back offers.
This would be great for me! I have a 5 month old who we just weighed on our wii fit :) and he is 19.8 lbs already! Definitely too heavy for my belly to tote around.

I am interested in the slide slinger. Never seen it before. The back carrier doesn’t hold enough weight and it is hard to hike with a kid poking your eye ball out when sitting up front. This is the perfect solution!

We bought two Infantino carriers for the kids. We used them quite a bit, too. And they were easy to stash in the car. I think they might have been the Style Rider type.

I’d love to try the Side Rider, since I have a little girl who wants to still be held a bit while we’re shopping or at the library … and being able to have two free hands AND carry my 3 year-old WHILE being able to keep tabs on her brother would be pretty dang miraculous.

I do think about trying a sling, though. When I ever have another child/litter.

I love the 6-in-1 carrier and the side rider! My baby carrier has been a lifesaver! I truly believe it would be impossible to care for 2 kids, while away from home, without some kind of carrier! Sadly, my 7 month old is already 20 pounds and has outgrown the carrier. :(
