In a world of singing, beeping, and largely annoying technological toys, I really appreciate simple, quality toys that require not batteries but IMAGINATION!

It’s modeled after traditional fixed wing prop-planes commonly seen in the widest regions of Africa, the Australian Outback, the plains of Argentina, and now our house!

Schleich sent us an airplane to review and Elliot hasn’t put it down since it arrived in the mail. That airplane has transported every toy in our house that will fit, and he’s put at least several hundred miles on it in less than a week! Christmas is coming soon, and I’m pretty sure this airplane will be a hit for boys and girls of all ages (and it’s completely silent which will be a hit with everyone else…).

We also received the Indian elephant and calf which are two of Elliot’s favorite animals. They’re big and solid and just so nice to hold I think! These are not chintzy animals, Schleich only makes superb figures that have so much detail and realistic coloring – the mama elephant has wrinkles in all the right places, dirty toenails, and adorable folded ears. And for the quality, they’re definitely reasonably priced at an average of about $5 each.
