I can’t remember if I said this in the video, but for this pants project I used a flat sheet I picked up at a yard sale for $.25 or so. If you can find them cheap enough, sheets are great to reuse into other things.
And this particular sheet had a decorative border along what is normally the top of the sheet, so I used that for my hem to save a step and add a little something special to the pants. I love how they turned out!

I have never sewn elastic this way–it has always been threaded through a casing. I am going to have to try this–thanks!
