He’s Here!

baby linus

And the waiting is over! Our third son was born Sunday, August 28 at 1:24 pm weighing 7 lbs. 6 oz. (much smaller than I was expecting, not because I was hugely pregnant but because Gus was 8 lbs. 10 oz.).

My labor was super fast (about 6 hours from start to finish). I delivered unmedicated again and labored mostly in a tub which was as nice as possible I suppose…this is my second vaginal delivery and the pushing was not any easier the second time. I wanted and thought I truly was going to die, but I’m gradually feeling less like I got hit by a truck. The aftermath is a rough business, isn’t it?

This baby’s blog name is Linus and he’s doing well. He’s very hungry which has been tough because my milk comes in slowly and gradually, but we’ll get there.

I’m just glad he’s here, is safe and healthy, and that I’m not pregnant anymore!

I’ll be taking the next little while off…but don’t forget about me! I’ll be back as soon as things settle down. ‘Til then…

  1. Congrats!! So glad to hear you and your baby are doing well!!

The recovery does suck. I had an Epidural tho. I am a big baby. I had the hardest time with my milk with my second. I realized I’d forgotten to up my calorie intake and water. Once I did that I was good to go. Who knew I needed to eat more while nursing that I did while pregnant. (And still be lucky enough to loose the baby weight lol)

I think that loss of bladder control is what I dislike the most.

  3. Congratulations!! I had all of my kids without meds and I can relate!! But way to go!! Its an awesome experience to feel the baby as he is moving out and into our arms! If its not already too late for you, I was told to drink lots of orange juice because its great for the contracting of the uterus. It helps alleviate some of the pain (especially when the baby is nursing)

  7. OMGosh, what a precious bundle of joy! Congratulations! There is NOTHING that smells better than a precious sweet baby. I could just bury myself into their little necks and eat up all that neck sugar. That’s what I do with my two little buglets! (my precious grandbabies)

  9. I wanted to wish you health and happiness. I have 3 boys of my own and I know how special of a time this can be living in seculsion with newbaby – snuggeling, kissing, getting to know one another, feeling the fullness and happiness of the “new” family. I really enjoy your blog and also wanted to thank you for opening up your life to “us”. I’ll be looking foward to seeing you again in the future! Congratulations!
