We are expecting baby #3 in August, and we found out yesterday we’re getting another one of these. That’s right, our 3rd boy. I’m excited.
I have a few quilts planned for baby boy. This new Marine fabric by Dan Stiles and Birch Fabrics will constitute one of them.
Coming up with a name is going to be the hardest part, but we’re excited!!!

That is great fabric. You make the cutest baby boys ever, I am so sorry the naming process is so hard. A is for Atticus is my most favorite baby name book ever.
Congratulations!
The biggest problem I’m having with names right now is that most of my favorite names have been used by people I know. Trying to decide how much that matters…
Congrats Kelsey!
Oh I love this fabric! I just had a little boy last spring named Jonah so I am slightly obsessed with whales lol. Hubby doesn’t think its funny ;o)
Congrats!
Congratulations! Baby’s are such a blessing.
Congratulations!!
I’m just laughing so hard at the picture you used of Joel. He cracks me up. Congrats again! At least you know you make cute boys!
Congratulations–I am the mom of 4 boys. They are all grown now but I have been blessed by 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson. Don’t worry about other people having the same name–that is hard to avoid.
Congratulations! Boys are awesome!!
Yay! You have such cute boys. And that fabric is awesome! I can’t wait to see the finished product.
Thanks everyone!!
It doesn’t matter if you use a name someone you know has used. If your sibling has a child named that name, I’d say that might be taboo. But friends? Fair game! (And most friends don’t care at all, unless you give them the same middle and last name too and they are in all the same classes at school. Then that would get old.)
That’s what I think! I wouldn’t care at all if a friend used a name I’ve used, but some people…not that it matters I guess. I agree about the siblings though…my brother has an Elijah, and I like that but it is definitely off the list for sure.
We have plenty of time…I’m sure we’ll think of something we love.
Congratulations!! Naming can be a hard . . . I am sure you’ll come up with the right one. I have 4 boys and they are my joy!!
Congrats!!!
Congratulations on your new boy, that’s so exciting! And hey, if by any chance you like the name I picked for my little guy then go for it! Picking boy names is hard . . .
I like the Baby Name Wizard (the book and the website) and Nymbler.com for picking names. We had two boys, as well, when we found out that we would be getting two more! (!!!) I had a hard enough time finding the first two boys’ names, I thought three and four would be imPOSSIBLE. Good luck!
Thanks Nemesis. It’s so cute, I do love it…
Yay, that’s so cool, and don’t worry about the multiple name thing at all. I even have two cousins named Michelle, the three of us always laughed about it. One was from my dad’s side, one from my mom’s!
Congrats!! You’ve got boy experience so it will be a breeze.
I would not worry about using names that friends have used…even family for that matter. I have a cousin who asked if she could name her little baby girl Emma because I had already used that name. I said “Sure!” When she had her baby and sent me the announcement she actually not only named her Emma, but used the same middle name as my Emma! Funny! What is even funnier is that she did not realize that she did it…total fluke! So the world now has two “Emma Laurcies'” hahaha!
