MY REVIEW
I think everybody knows that Bosch is the kitchen mixer/machine to beat all others, and if you like to cook/bake at all, you probably want one of these babies. I know I have been drooling over this one kitchen appliance for at least 5 years, and I have done some fabulous things in the kitchen in the last few weeks that made the wait well worth it.
For me, the two main reasons that Bosch is the best kitchen machine are
- the 800 watt motor
- the 6.5 quart mixing bowl
These two things are what make the difference for me. Small scooters and remote control airplanes have 800 watt motors! That is exactly the kind of power I need mixing my bread dough, and it makes all the difference in how long the kitchen machine will last and how delicious my food will taste.
I have made bread of the most mouthwatering variety that I was never able to achieve with my other stand mixer. When a recipe says to mix the dough on medium/high for 7 minutes, the Bosch can actually handle that, which means I get much better results.
And I love how the dough hook (used for anything too thick to pour) mixes without smashing. One of my biggest gripes with my old mixer was that it would just grind M&Ms or chocolate chips in cookies to bits, but the Bosch somehow integrates the chips into the dough AND leaves them whole. I’ve also noticed how easy the bowl is to clean. My cookie and bread doughs seem to all stick together and not to the bowl.
Suction feet on the bottom of the machine keep it stationary, the bowl locks easily and securely into place, and this model has a total of 4 speeds and a larger range of speeds overall. There’s also a deep rim around the outside of the bowl which makes it easy to grip.
So far I have gotten better results all across the board with my Bosch kitchen machine, which is just what I was hoping for! My mom has had her Bosch for 30 years, and I expect mine to still be going strong in 2040!

the first thing I would make would be a batch of homemade bread. I have been mixing by hand for 2 years and would love a mixer to do the work for me.

The first thing I may make is pound cake. I recently tried making one using my hands to mix it because my mixer was still in storage and that was a big mistake because the texture was really not what it was supposed to be.

Right now I can only make half a batch of bread at a time, so I will make a full batch of whole wheat bread!!
Actually, the wattage is irrelevant. As my mother likes to point out, you can have an 800-watt hairdryer, and it won’t do a thing to mix your cookie dough. The Viking mixer has a 900-watt motor, I think (maybe it’s 1,000), but reviewers say it doesn’t handle whole grains well.
But, with that said, the Bosch is a great machine!
The first thing I would make with it is cookies – especially at this time of year! :)
