Book Giveaway #10 – Hattitude AND Vanna’s Choice Yarn

hattitude and vanna's choice yarn lion brandTHE PRIZE

One reader will win Hattitude: Knits for Every Mood by Cathy Carron (published by Sixth and Spring Books)and 4 skeins of Vanna’s Choice Wild Berry yarn!

MY REVIEW

First of all, Vanna’s Choice is one of my favorite yarns because it’s so versatile and works with so many patterns. It also comes in every color in the rainbow and it’s sooo soft and is just fabulous to work with. The finished product is always soft, sturdy, easy to care for, and again, SO MANY COLORS!

The hat I decided to make first from Hattitude calls for a Lion Brand Yarn that has been discontinued, called Glitterspun. But on the Lion Brand website you can view an enormous list of all the possible yarn substitutions, and Vanna’s Choice works in place of Glitterspun – perfect!

Anyway, the hat I’m making is the Cabled Pom-Pom hat and I kind of love it. This is my first experience knitting cables, and I haven’t quite gotten there yet, but I’m sure with a little help from Dr. You Tube I can figure it out and I think I’m going to love knitting cables. Oh so many more possibilities…

I love knitting hats on circular needles, and Hattitude has so many pages of great knitted hat patterns. This book is definitely going to come in handy in a few weeks when I start cracking down on my Christmas gifts this year (knitted hats…of course!).

Thanks to Sixth and Spring Publishing and Lion Brand Yarn for sponsoring this giveaway!

I think my favorite Lion Brand yarn that I have actually worked with is wool-ease but there are a TON that I want to try. I just haven’t wanted to pay for the more pricey ones yet.
