Cover Your Assets was one of his first game hits, and Cover Your Kingdom is a similar concept only with a fantastical, funny, fabulous theme. The cards and creatures are clever, there are more rules and cards, more people can play, it’s just more crazy and so so fun!
Every creature card has a spoofy/funny name and the artwork is, once again, top notch. Each creature has a point value and players form Clans by stacking like cards. Only clans at the top of a stack can be stolen, so the more you stack, the safer your points are, but don’t get too comfy, there are special cards to throw wrenches in all your plans!
Every player gets a Kingdom card and creatures have to be placed either on the Mountain or Valley side of the card depending on where they live. Some creatures can live in both places, but most can only live in one or the other.
My kids love the stacking and stealing nature of this game. No cards are safe for long! I hear them cackling and howling every time they play.
My 6 year old can hold his own too. It’s a great family or party game, works well with players of all ages, has plenty of math (adding scores), fantasty, and fun. 5 Stars for Grandpa Beck!!
