MY REVIEW
Seagate is a brand I completely trust for computer storage. Both the FreeAgent Go and the Replica are high quality, reliable, user friendly drives that keep all my irreplaceable information, pictures, and videos backed up and safe.
The FreeAgent Go portable drive is a new member of the Seagate FreeAgent family. It is their first product that has been designed specifically for both PC and Mac users. I am a PC person myself, but I know Mac people will appreciate this new product that is specifically designed to suit their external storage needs.
The great thing about Seagate external storage products is that they are pre-installed with all the necessary software. This is a huge selling point for me – I don’t get all the complicated installation stuff, and with Seagate products, I don’t have to know anything except for how to plug the device into my computer. Easy. And again, this is the first Seagate product that has software pre-installed for Mac computers as well as PCs.

I would love to win to avoid the stress and heartbreak I encountered about a month ago.
My beloved Mac (only 4 years old) had a massive harddrive attack and passed away. Along with it, it tried to take all my digital photos, many of which had never been backed up to CD. I lost a lot of sleep over that because it seemed there was no way to get them back. After many attemps and several tries, I was finally able to start up in safe mode long enough to copy the files to a borrowed hard drive. Them “boom” no more access to the hard drive.
So, my iMac passed away, but my treasured photos are still with me. It would be amazing to have a backup system in place that would be easier than burning CDs every month. A simple drag and drop to an external hard drive would be so much more convenient, and therefore I would be able to keep it current.
I visited the site and was amazed at the variety of colors available in this model. Not only would someone be secure in backup, but they would be styling as well. Love the extra features like the dock for easy connectivity, too!

My son deserves this because he has gone through a lot this year with his computer. He won a Dell laptop 3 years ago and he used that to do all his video editing and music making. Last year while working on a video for church his laptop crashed and he lost all 320 gigs of video. This year he finally managed to build a computer and just last week it was struck by lightening. I think he should win this because he is about to go off to college so he doesn’t have enough money to buy an external hdd him self. This would make a wonderful graduation present. He currently is using a PC.

After having my laptop stolen from a Paris hotel last November, I learned the hard way about staying backed up. Although I was able to recover some of my data I lost months worth of files and spent a lot of time trying to find files. Since then I back up religiously using a 320GB FreeAgent Go and really love the product. Very small and portable. But, I really need one for backing up my desktop and backing creating a 2nd backup of my laptop backups. (Really, after that experience I will never be caught without a recent backup.)
