For all you tech junkies (or wives of tech junkies….), the prize today is for a 1 TB Seagate GoFlex external hard drive ($170) and Roxio Creator 2011 software ($99)!

MY REVIEW

Seagate GoFlex

I have reviewed a few different hard drive brands and Seagate is my favorite for sure! They’re so easy to use, just plug in and go. They’re sleek, small, and competitively price, and like all Seagate drives, all software is preloaded.

I received a 1TB GoFlex to review and I’m putting all my videos and pictures on there. It will be nice to not have to worry about space for a while!

The GoFlex drives come with USB 3.0 Super Speed connectivity which allows you to store, share, and play and view hi-definition movies and photos. Data transfer is up to 10x faster than the 2.0 connection but it’s compatible with a 2.0 interfaces so you can use it on any computer.

Another great new-ish feature is that you can store and access files from PC and Mac computers without reformatting. That ought to make lots of people happy!

Roxio Creator 2011 Software

roxio creator softwareMy brother built our  computer and put in some fancy features that are great except not all software is compatible with them. So unfortunately, I have not yet been able to personally review this software, although I have used Roxio software before and it’s so easy to learn and use.

Roxio Creator is the ultimate digital media resource with the ability to edit and create CDs and DVDs, rip and convert audio files, and edit and share photos.

I have hundreds of videos of my kids on my computer and I’m just waiting for my brother to fix my computer so I can use Roxio to get them all onto DVDs. Because of my experience with Roxio in the past, I’m sure it will be a quick and easy process.

  14. I like the portable 1.5 TB drive. It would be nice not to have to lug around a huge heavy thing with my laptop. Jared likes the 12 TB one though, as soon as it pulled up on my screen he leaned over and was all interested :)

  21. Oooh, wow, what a great giveaway! Something both my husband and I would really love! A good friend of mine works at Seagate and turned us on to their products after telling us how high their quality standards are! We have a computer reserved just for gaming and we built it with a Seagate hard-drive!

  48. I would love FreeAgent® GoFlex™ Ultra–portable Drive.
    I have a ton of pictures and videos that I have lost over the years because of insufficient hard drive space. This portable hard drive would be a godsend.

  88. Seagate’s Go Flex external hard drive would be the absolute ticket for backing up my photos and videos on my Mac. Almost lost everything when my hard drive crashed a while ago but luckily my data wasn’t lost ~ whew! Let’s just say I lucked out that time. Never used Roxio either but would be fun to try.

  93. It looks like they have a lot of useful hardware, but I still love the external hard drives best. I’m always scared of losing all the pictures I have stored on my computer if it crashed and have wanted one.

  107. I am so the tech junkie in this house! When I went to school for it, it was considered as an “Nontraditional job” for a woman?!? I sure could use this to back up all the family photos! Thanks for the opportunity! My favorite on the Seagate site would have to be the Seagate Replica !!! Its automatic even!

  110. I really like the Seagate Free Agent Goflex drives.
    This way I can humor my internal craziness … and, when I go out of town, I can take all my kids’ pictures and EVERYTHING on my computer with me. This way, if my house burns down or whatever while I’m gone, I won’t have to DIE. ^_^

  126. I have to give the Seagate Replica my vote. I like the automatic feature. It would be a huge price to pay if you “forgot” to backup after having downloaded pictures. I really need something to help me back up and organize my pictures – I can’t possibly scrapbook as fast as we take them. lol
