MY REVIEW
Puzzles are one of the best toys for little kids – they are great for fine motor skills, memory, attention span and focus, problem solving, vocabulary, and so much more.We have a box full of wooden puzzles that my son has loved for the last year. Our favorites in this box are Melissa & Doug, of course!
I love their chunky puzzle series – my son started doing puzzles at around 16-18 months, and I wish we had had more of the chunky wooden puzzles then – the fat pieces are much easier for their awkward little hands to grasp.
The Mix’N Match puzzles are great too – kind of like playing dress up or with paper dolls, only with the fun of puzzles!
One of my very favorite Melissa & Doug items that is on my wish list is the Latches Board. With 6 different latching mechanisms to explore, my son would love this! I think it would be kind of fun myself…
And Melissa & Doug’s selection of not only puzzles, but also other classic wooden toys is excellent. They have so many great boy toys – all 3 of these are perfect for the typical boy because they involve turning, twisting, and pounding.
Melissa & Doug toys, puzzles, and games are high quality and very affordable. I have seen their toys at craft stores where you can use coupons, and I love that! Melissa & Doug has the best selection and quality of puzzles, and puzzles are toys that kids will never tire of. These 4 wooden puzzles would be a great start to your wooden puzzle collection!
