{The winner of the EK Success package is…Kami! She said, “I love the look of “fasteners” on pages and cards but haven’t ever done it myself!” Congratulations! Email me your address and I’ll get your prize delivered to you.}

Today is an exciting day – 2 new contests for some fabulous products.

REVIEW

It’s so hard to review so many great products at once because there is so much to say about each of them. Basically, EK Success is one of my favorite scrapbooking supply companies – they make tools, embellishments, adhesives – they do it all! I said before that my favorite glue is an EK Success product, and now I have a few more favorites to add to the list.

fastenater by ek success

The Fastenater is lots of fun – it’s like the Crop-A-Dile in that you can work anywhere on a 12×12 piece of paper rather than just along the edge. I am new to decorative staples in my paper crafting, but it’s something I’ve really gotten into. It’s just such a simple special little something that gives your page a modern look. Their decorative staple line is fantastic as well – I love the word staples, the black and white set, and the basic solid colors. So much fun!

I love the design also – you lift up that top pink part to insert the staples, so you don’t have the whole thing open and laid out across the table. It’s easy to switch the staples out depending on what color scheme you’re working with, and it doesn’t take much brute strength at all to get the staple on the paper.

Overall, a must have product! The staples are inexpensive at just a few dollars a package, and it’s so much fun to use!

cutterpede by EK successcutter-bee-blade

A high quality paper cutter is probably the most important tool you can have as a paper artist. A poor one that cuts crooked and leaves fuzzy edges is maddening! You have to have straight, clean edges to make your pages and cards look great. The Cutterpede is one of the best I’ve tried for the following reasons:

  • The base of the cutting surface is a grid, making it easy to get a perfectly straight cut. (This is something my old paper cutter didn’t have, and I can never go back.)
  • The blade arm is 13″ long so your 12×12 paper has room to breathe – so nice!
  • A 15″ ruler extends out from the left side and is hinged at a right angle so you can cut at 6″ exactly.
  • The rotary blade is visible so you can see exactly where you’re cutting, and it’s interchangeable so you can use decorative blades.
  • It’s pink, and pink is pretty and happy and our scrapbooking tools should be pretty because then they’re so much more fun to use.

The Cutterpede is sturdy and is really just a high quality tool, just what a paper cutter should be.

daisy-punch ek successdaisy punch ek success

Every scrapbooker also needs to have a basic flower punch. I use flowers a ton in my scrapbooking, and while I like to use the Cricut to cut lots of different types of flowers, I find I use this Daisy punch as much or more because it’s just so easy, fast, requires no decision making or setup. At 3″, it’s a great size for scrapbook pages and layouts, and it kind of stands on its own because of how big it is. It’s a great shape and you don’t need much to set it off. I use this all the time and I love how it immediately gives my work that feminine and happy feel.

This punch is heavy duty, and you can cut through multiple pieces of paper at once. I like to cut flowers from at least one piece of patterned paper and a sheet of vellum, layer them together, and secure with a brad. So cute! I’ll show you what I mean tomorrow…

Again, I love how big this is – you can find any shape in a small size, but the large punch shapes are harder to come by – EK Success makes lots of great punch shapes, which I love!

ek success stickers jolees boutique

I have to admit that I didn’t used to be a sticker person, but between my last craft giveaway and this one with all the EK Success stickers I’ve gotten to try out, I’ve become a fan. I think my problem before was I just didn’t know quite how to use them without making it look like a 5th grade art project. I also had the wrong kind of stickers.

EK Success stickers are so beautiful that you don’t really have to know how to use them, they just look great anywhere, on anything.

You can find a whole aisle of EK Success stickers at your local craft store, and I love how varied they are – dimensional stickers, embossed stickers, glitter stickers, Disney stickers, and more with so many different themes! You can find whatever you need with no problem. And, at only $2 or $3 (full price), they’re one of the most inexpensive embellishments available.
