THE PRIZE

One reader will win a Tecnocel Power Pak and a GorillaTorch Flare. (Value $80)

Technocel PowerPak

Technology is wonderful and it really can help simplify life in some ways, but all the chargers for all the different devices can be a bit…much. Keeping your phone, mp3 player, laptop, etc etc etc. chargers straight and found can be a chore especially when you travel.

Technocel-PowerPak-Portable-Battery-and-Home-Charger-2-in-1-in-useEnter Technocel Power Pak: this device is the great simplifier for all your technology. In one small pouch you get an AC adapter with a USB connector and 10 additional tips that fit 95% of all hand held USB devices including all major cell phone makes and iPod/iPhone.

The PowerPak is both a home charger and backup battery device – you can charge the battery pack while charging a device and have plenty of juice left over for when you’re out.

Whether at home or on the go, toss all your old chargers and keep it simple with this single device!

Joby Gorillatorch Flare

The Gorillatorch Flare is another must-have for frequent travelers or preparedness enthusiasts. It’s a great emergency or home flashlight and here’s why:gorillatorch

  • magnetic feet for hands-free operation
  • 100 lumen white CREE LED and 3 red LEDs
  • 6 light modes, including emergency strobe
  • water resistant
  • tested to sustain drops of up to 2 meters (6 feet)
  • compact and lightweight
  • uses 3 AA batteries

We took a Gorillatorch Flare on our most recent camping trip and learned that the brightest setting is a very powerful spotlight, great for the tent or for hunting down a lost child in the dark.

The best part though is the hands-free operation – you can stand it up on the tripod or attach it to anything sturdy or magnetic. I need 4 hands when helping my kids while camping, and not having to hold a flashlight in my mouth is a welcome luxury.

Thanks Technocel and Joby!

I’d like to win this because the Gorillatorch Flare would be a good flashlight, and very useful in a blackout, and the Technocel Power Pak would always be useful for charging everything.

I would like to win this because It would be nice to have something that can charge the multitude of gadgets roaming around this house….ahem..
psp, netbook, nintendo ds, blackberry, ipod touch, camera, etc…(see how many cords and chargers I’m supposed to keep up with? lol
I like the Gorillatorch mainly because it is hands free and can be positioned to stay in different places. A product that is useful and hands free is a plus in any moms life!

These sound like great products! We take several road trips each year (and are just packing for one, ironically). With 3 kids, the number of electronics we bring with us is growing and having to bring chargers, adapters, etc is cumbersome, so this sounds like a great alternative! Also, the light would come in handy when we are searching for things in the van and the overhead lights just don’t cut it or are distracting to the driver. Plus, if we had to pull over for an emergency, having a light handy may be a life saver!!

34 Kathy Mc August 3, 2010 at 9:16 am

Oh, would I love to win. My husband take an electrical light with him down into our crawl space, and it makes me nervous due to the intense heat. Would love the Gorilla due to its flexibility ~ just like the camera tripod which is awesome! Power Pak, oh my, what a Godsend that would be. Thanks for the great giveaway!

The Technocel seems very practical for all our charging needs and the gorillatorch is too cool! Our son has the gorillapod for his camera. The torch would be handy to have for all sorts of tasks and I like that it is drop resistant.

This is super cool… and would be handy as I’ve forgotten to charge many electronics and wished I had something like the technocel.

62 Ginny August 4, 2010 at 10:57 am

I’m loving that light. Great for emergency kit, we lose power a lot during the hot summers & then tornado season. Plus it would be great for when hobby is doing projects, the way it wraps. The charger is another must have with all the cell phones & other electronics we use!

I would like to win these because the PowerPak would make things so much simpler. We are always trying to hunt up the chargers for our various devices
and the cords are a tangled mess. The Gorillatorch would be so useful around the house and to take with us. It is so hard to try to hold a flashlight and try to work on something and I like that you can position it how you want it.
