MY REVIEW

An immersion blender is a small kitchen appliance I use all the time – for canning and making jams and applesauce and for everyday meals like spaghetti sauce and beans.

I got to try out the Bosch Mixxo, a cordless immersion blender, and it is so easy to use and gives me great results. I made that delicious tomato cream sauce picture above for our pasta last week and I usually leave the tomatoes and onions in chunks, but this time I decided to try making it even more creamy and delicious with the Mixxo. The blended version of this already fabulous pasta sauce is the way of the future!

The Mixxo is a great immersion blender for lots of reasons. For starters, it’s cordless. That makes it so much easier to use and easier to clean. The blade detaches from the motor/handle section so you don’t have to worry about getting water where it shouldn’t be, which means you can actually get it clean!

The Mixxo is also powerful enough to blend to a smooth and creamy texture. It has a good battery life and when it is charging time, the charger can be mounted on the wall to save space or rest on your counter.

This stick/immersion blender also comes with a clear plastic mixing beater, great for smoothies, milkshakes, sauces, and more. It also comes with a mini chopper (works just like a food process, just smaller) that is perfect for making salsa or just chopping up vegetables for your main dish.

I’d so use that to puree my strawberries, since we had to pick them before the freeze (in Florida?!?!?) hit and now I have oodles of berries that I need to make puree with and freeze – this time in MY freezer! LOL and I’d use them for my healthy shakes, and (gasp) gravies! Ooooh I’d have so many uses!!!

141 Kimberly R January 12, 2010 at 11:50 am: I blend all of the tomatoes I use in cooking – it stops the “gag” reflex that happens with the children – lol. I currently use a blender having a mixxo I could use in the same pan I am cooking with would be so much quicker for both prep and clean up.

For instance my 5 & 6 year olds won’t eat carrots wether cooked or not, sugared or not. But they love the carrot baby foods. My daughter is a chef in the making. She loves trying new food, eating and cooking. This gorgeous blender would never rest. ;-)
