THE PRIZE

Heathcare Basics

One reader will win the Healthcare Basics Kit from Safety 1st!

MY REVIEW

Just like the name indicates, this kit has the basic health care tools you’d need on the go for your child in an adorable carrying case. The Healthcare kit includes (from the Safety1st product page)

  1. Easy-View Case for travel and storage
  2. Medicine Spoon with clear markings and an easy-to-hold handle
  3. Nasal Aspirator with small, flexible tip
  4. Emergency Contact Card for a compact and handy reference
  5. Digital Thermometer with Protective Case has multiple modes of use: oral, rectal, or underarm
  6. Fold-Up Nail Clippers with curved cutting edges and easy-grip handle
  7. Medicine Dropper with Spill Guard provides accurate dosage readings and a convenient plug

You really never know when you’ll need the nail clippers and aspirator especially. Those two items are great to have with you everywhere you go, and keeping them in this handy carrying case will help you be able to locate and access the items quickly. If your diaper bag is anything like mine, you need all the help you can get…

I love the carrying case – when I don’t need to carry these items with me all the time I can use it for diapers, extra clothes, or even my own essentials like lotion, chapstick, tissues, etc.

Thanks, Safety 1st!

I never leave home without gas medicine and baby tylenol. You never know when you could really use them.

Mylicon!! My daughter is very gassy so we’re never far from a bottle. Besides the usual diapers, wipes, etc., we always have sun screen with us because my son is very fair.

I don’t have kids yet but I will always bring an extra outfit! Once when my sister and I were traveling with her baby, he was coming down with the stomach flu. We brought two extra outfits, but he pooped through or threw up on every one, so by the time we landed at our destination, he was in a diaper only.

I never leave home without a nipple shield – my baby is still breastfed and since he learned on the nipple shield, he refuses anything else!

diapers and wipes do just fine for us. No extras, usually, but my son is very healthy 1-yr-old. For the one-in-the-oven, though, it will probably be a different story!
