MY REVIEW
My husband and I got to go experience The Homestead, and we loved every minute of our stay there. We dropped off our toddler with Grandma and drove through the beautiful canyon, through Park City, to get to Midway. (I was really tempted to stop by the outlet mall on our way, but my husband really wanted to just get straight to The Homestead…next time…).
We settled into our comfortable, cozy, cottage style room and relaxed for a bit before dinner. We watched some TV and took advantage of their wireless internet – we probably should have left the laptop at home, but there’s always a little bit of work to be done! Thank goodness for the wireless connection…
Frankly, dinner at Fanny’s Grill was the part I was looking forward to the most, and the food, service, and view of the golf course did not disappoint.
We started out with an appetizer – you can see the enormous mound of nachos in the bottom right picture. That appetizer alone could have fed about 5 people! But then we got our salads and entrees too.
We could have easily fed about 10 people with the amount of food we got, which was all fabulous. I completely out did myself, which wasn’t too hard with my stomach being squashed by a baby… but I just couldn’t help myself, the food was sooo good!
The next day we enjoyed a luxurious afternoon out on the golf course, complete with a cart, which is the only way to go. We loved the GPS system that tells you all kinds of information about the hole you’re on, like how far away the hole is and in which direction, if you’re on schedule/ahead/behind, where not to drive, the location of other golf carts on the course, and lots more.
The course wound through some beautiful landscape – having grown up in Oregon, I don’t think Utah is a particularly beautiful place, but Midway and the Homestead are green with lots of trees and just beautiful. I was so glad there were several bathrooms scattered around the course as well!
And since The Homestead Golf Course is celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, you can play 18 holes of golf for only $40, and that includes the cart. While we were there I saw some advertisements for a golf/dinner package for around $50 – not bad at all!

We had a great time at The Homestead – it might just become a yearly event for my husband and I! If you haven’t been to The Homestead recently, this summer is a great time to check it out!
