Black Friday Giveaway #6 is for all you movie lovers – a SHARP Blu-ray Disc Player!

MY REVIEW

I am by no means a technology expert, especially when it comes to audio and video. I just know when something works well, not necessarily why. And while I don’t understand all the abbreviations, acronyms, and general tech-talk behind the new Blu-ray disc format, I do know that the SHARP Blu-ray player is pretty darn sweet.

The picture is better, and I hear it has something to do with 1080p – apparently that’s 1,080 lines of vertical resolution, progressively scanned, and it’s the maximum quality available to date. The picture is clear, crisp, and vibrant.

The sound is also better. I love surround sound, and with the SHARP Blu-ray player, I feel like I can hear every twig cracking in the forest.

And although you’re going to get better results when you watch a Blu-ray disc on a SHARP Blu-ray player, I think regular DVDs are better as well. I don’t know if that’s a fact or anything, but everything just looks and sounds better to me!

My favorite thing about the SHARP Blu-Ray player and the thing that really sets it apart from others like it is the quick start feature. One of my biggest technology pet peeves is the waiting for the DVD player to respond to the remote. On our regular DVD player, I can hear the gears turning and eventually the movie starts. I guess it gives me time for a quick bathroom stop, but what if I don’t have to go?!?

The SHARP Blu-ray player has a super fast response time – you can start watching your movie in just seconds, and navigating between chapters, from menu to movie, and from standby to viewing mode is lightning fast. If only my kids responded as fast…That might just make the perfect world…

And our TV isn’t a SHARP, but there is some special technology in these SHARP electronics that recognize each other. When you have a SHARP television and Blu-ray player working together you can get the best picture possible.

I can’t wait to rewatch some of my favorite action movies on this baby – I’ll be renting James Bond and X-Men SOON.

  116. I’ve always liked Sharp microwaves, but I REALLY like the Sharp SuperSteam Oven really 4 ovens in 1 SuperSteam Convection, Steam, Convection and Microwave. Wow!!

  432. I didn’t realize Sharp made solar products. I would love to put solar panels on my roof to help save electric costs since everything we have is electric (heat, well, septic, etc)
