Nature Study

This is how we do artist/picture study, it’s very fancy. ? I pick an artist from the time period we’re studying and hang 6-8 of his/her works on the fridge for the 12 week term.

This piece of vertical real estate is probably the most valuable (since it is visited so very frequently) in the whole house, so I want to make it count!

I want my children to get to know these works of art and when they see one again someday in a book or a museum, recognize and greet it like an old friend.

Once a week we pick one and look at it more closely, talk about it, ask questions, and learn a little about the artist’s life.

It’s gentle and easy and is an essential part of The Feast of knowledge I’m trying to serve to my children.
