Ever Heard of Goodreads?

The other night I was at my monthly dinner group and a few friends were talking about goodreads.com. Apparently there is a website where you can open an account and invite friends and share book recommendations. Have you ever heard of a more brilliant idea?!?

As soon as I got home I signed up and invited all my book-lover friends. I have had so much fun browsing through my friend’s book lists and reading their reviews on familiar and unfamiliar books alike. My first thought was, “WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE!?!”

Next to blogging, goodreads is my new favorite thing to do on the internet. Every time I read a book I add it to my book list, good or bad.

Goodreads is also the solution to a dilemma I’ve had for quite some time. In the last year I have thought it might be nice to keep a record of all the books I read along with a rating/review, and goodreads has made that easy. I used to write down every book title on a different piece of paper and then would never see it again to put on my master list.

I also like to keep a list of all the children’s books I read as well so I can remember what my favorites are to read to future children. Keeping track of my favorites will also make Christmas easier since we like to give books as gifts. Now I won’t have to strain my brain to remember my favorite titles and authors.

Because I get to share the books with my friends, keeping track of them via goodreads has been much more successful…and fun!
