March Notebooking

My mind is always so full of ideas. Too full. Exploding.

I am constantly inspired by other homeschoolers online and on Instagram, and I want to do all the good and beautiful things I see. Notebooking is one of those things that I see and want to do myself, but developing new habits is hard!

As you can see in our weekly schedule, each morning at around 10:30 we do Group Work, which is when I read aloud our history spines and other subjects/readings that we do together.

We’ve started working on notebooking the books we’re reading during Group Work. They can draw while they listen and then make some notes after. I usually do my entry right after Group Work when they have moved on to more of their independent work or play time.

Recording my own learning and improving my writing and drawing skills has been a rewarding experience, and looking at my few entries brings me so much joy.

And once again I’ve learned that if I want my children to pick up a new habit or practice, it always works best if I lead the way.
