My twins are 4 and LOVE LOVE LOVE to play games. Santa brought them something special this Christmas: a race-car themed, color matching, early strategy game called Monza

Players choose one of the 6 colored wooden car playing pieces to race each other around the track. The cars line up on the starting line, and the first player rolls all 6 color dice.

Players can only move their cars ahead on the track according to the colors they rolled on the dice. It’s an excellent thinking ahead/simple strategy game for kids as young as 4 or 5.

Players take turns rolling and strategically moving their cars around the race track, avoiding obstacles, and the winner is the first to the finish line!

My twins learned this game really quickly and are getting lots of good color matching practice. It’s more difficult than just color matching though – they have to see the colors coming up on the track and use their dice to get as far as they can. It’s not easy, and they love the challenge!

My 4 year old twins love playing Monza together and with their 6 and 9 year old brothers. Everyone loves to play and I love watching them all learn through playing. Strategy and thinking ahead are two very useful skills for kids to start practicing and developing as soon as they can start playing games!

These two will be in kindergarten next fall and I am looking forward to using all kinds of HABA’s fantastic preschool games to help them get a head-start on learning new skills in a fun, gameschool way. They are going to love it!!

Thanks to HABA USA for sharing this game with us!
