We have our finalists! A day late! I’m really sorry about that, but I promise I have good reasons - you can read my sob story at the end of this post if you’re interested.
Congratulations to the 20 finalists - you will need to email me (kelsey[at]vanillajoy[dot]com) a 200 word essay explaining why you need/deserve to win the Minibox. We will read your essays and select the winner based on your essays. Please get your essay to me by September 28. I will announce the final winner October 1. Good luck! (I put the comment number, which I now realize doesn’t actually show up except when I log in to my account, so you can disregard the numbers.)

And now for the story - I can’t do anything on the computer while my son is awake, and he didn’t take his nap until 2:00 yesterday because he’s sick and can’t sleep very well (probably something to do with the copious snot flow). While I was rocking him to sleep, the power went out which meant that my desktop computer wouldn’t work at all and I couldn’t get internet on my laptop. I had to wake him up at 3:30 (power still out) to drive to Orem to run some time sensitive errands and transcribe 2 classes for 2 deaf students at UVU. I got home at about 8:30, was starving to death, took over trying to get my sick baby to bed (husband was worn out from trying), and finally finished at 10:30. I appreciate all of your kind comments in yesterday’s “Apologies” post - you guys are the best!

Does the essay have to be exactly 200 words? Or can it be more?
I know how that goes, all too well. I have three under three who were all sick two weeks ago. Imagine rocking three kids to sleep- ugh. My arms were numb by the time that was said and done, I’m STILL regaining feeling!! Not to mention trying to catch up on sleep! Hope he gets better soon.
I cannot BELIEVE I am a finalist! I am sooooo stinkin excited! Now I’m off to write my essay. I think a picture of my wayyyyy disorganized crafting corner would sum it up, but if a picture is worth 1000 words, that’s already 800 words too many! ;-)

I always feel so sorry for little ones when they get sick. They can’t tell you where they hurt or how they feel. It’s a tough job being a mom.

I’m sorry your little guy isn’t feeling well. My youngest DD was out most of the second week of school with a bug…..not fun!
