What do you do keep your family healthy? How do you get more fruits and vegetables into your daily diets? These are important questions, and a healthy lifestyle really begins with what you eat.

We eat healthy

  • by having lots of fruit and vegetable options in the house
  • by not having other less healthy snacks around
  • by drinking fruit juices, especially orange juice

For our family, having fresh fruits and vegetables available more easily than other kinds of snacks really helps. It’s a difficult transition if you’re used to having lots of non-natural foods, but if the only options are carrot sticks or apples your kids will make a healthy choice!

I decided several months ago to try to eat more natural foods, and I found that requirement eliminated almost everything except fruits and vegetables. This one decision has changed our whole eating lifestyle and now we’re eating FOOD and not science.

Fruit juices are another great way to get more of that fruit in your daily diet, especially for those who are more resistant to making healthy choices.

Tropicana Pure Premium orange juice is made from 100% fruit juice (no artificial sweeteners or added sugar) and each 8-oz. glass is the same as 2 servings of fruit. Tropicana orange juice is a cost-effective and delicious way to meet your daily fruit quota.

We also stay healthy by limiting our media time. We don’t watch TV at all during the day and Elliot can watch part of a movie 1 or 2 days a week. He doesn’t know any different and because we spend less time in front of the TV we spend more time as a family outside and doing more active kinds of recreation.

How do you incorporate fruits and vegetables into your day to keep your family healthy??

Pledge to squeeze more fruits and veggies into your day & Tropicana will help kids in need. Tropicana will donate one 8-oz glass of orange juice to the USDA School Breakfast and Summer Food Service programs, up to 184,375 8-oz glasses. Please pledge by going to  http://bit.ly/gAU7Eq . Promo will end 12/31/11.
