Day 4 – Make Goody Plates

Bake up some Christmas treats and make goody plates to deliver to friends and neighbors. This activity is one of my favorites – I enjoy baking and I especially like making pretty desserts. Delivering your freshly baked treats saves you from eating them and spreads holiday cheer.

Here are some Kraft Foods recipes for some delicious, beautiful, and easy desserts.

Here are two more of my favorite holiday treat recipes:

Scotcheroos

Boil 1 c. sugar and 1 c. corn syrup. Remove from heat.
Add 1 c. peanut butter. Stir.
Add 6 c. Rice Crispies cereal.
Pour and press into greased 9×13 pan.
Melt 2 c. chocolate chips in microwave (do in 30 second intervals, stirring in between). Spread melted chocolate mixture over Rice Crispies mixture.
Allow to cool until chocolate has hardened.

Monster Cookies

1 lb. butter/margarine
5 1/4 c. peanut butter
4 1/2 c. brown sugar
4 c. granulated sugar
1 T. corn syrup
8 T. baking soda
1 dozen eggs
1 T. vanilla
1 – 12 oz. package chocolate chips
1 – 16 oz. package M&Ms
18 c. rolled oatsBake 10 minutes at 375 degrees. So this recipe makes a lot of cookies, but if you’re doing lots of goody plates, that’s a good thing. I usually cut this recipe in half and it’s perfect. This cookie is one of my favorites because it’s definitely desserty and yummy but it’s also kind of healthy with all the peanut butter and oats, kind of granola bar/energy bar -ish.Enjoy!
