fourth of july kids craft

Save up your red and blue milk jug lids for a festive Fourth of July kids craft this week. Here’s what you’ll need for a red, white, and blue craft necklace:

  • 6-8 milk jug lids
  • yarn or string
  • drinking straws cut into 2″ pieces
  • yarn needle

Thread the yarn onto the needle and thread the milk jug lids and straw pieces onto the yarn to make your holiday necklace.

Elliot is not always very cooperative, especially when it comes to taking pictures, so he had a great time making the necklace but wasn’t interested in modeling for a picture. Boys…

Happy 4th!

Abby would love this… we always have a few different milks around for everyone’s needs at our house so I guess I’ll have to start saving. Fun!

My husband already thinks I save enough ‘garbage’ as it is. I’m sure he’s going to be thrilled with this new reason to keep even more; Haha! Thanks for the cute idea.

I was just thinking this would be a great craft idea for the preschoolers at VBS! Thanks for the idea.

I can totally imagine taking that picture of my son! Sometimes a ham, sometimes a shrinking violet!
