oh sweet sadie art and gift show

The Oh Sweet Sadie Gift show is happening again this weekend. This is one of my favorite shows around. I love walking through a very large and beautiful home looking at all the vendor’s cute and crafty stuff. Fortunately for me, Oh Sweet Sadie is happening this coming weekend, next weekend, and 3 more times for a Holiday show in November/December. I can’t wait!

Another important thing. Today be International Speak Like A Pirate Day. Here are some examples o appropriate things to say today: Ahoy instead of hello, yar, “me” instead of “my” and “mine,” “o” instead of “of,” “be” instead of “is,” Aye, Matey, Grog, Lassy, and be sure to have your parrot on hand.

And tomorrow is Wife Appreciation Day, so inform your husbands immediately. I’m totally serious about this! I found this daily holiday website through my friend Jeri’s blog. There really is a holiday every day, and I can’t wait to be appreciated tomorrow.

And now for the spotlight. So much for not posting on Fridays, huh? Well, there’s just too much to do. I have to share my favorite scrapbooking/craft tools with you. This blog really isn’t a craft/scrapbooking blog, but it is a blog about family, motherhood, and me, and scrapbooking is a big part of the “me.” So here you go.

Gorillapod SLR

Joel was looking mighty precious in his just-woke-up state and I couldn’t resist a few pictures. I used my Gorillapod to make sure the camera was totally steady since I was trying to take it from an odd angle.

I find my Gorillapod to be an indispensable tool when trying to take pictures of Joel cuddling with his bear while asleep or sticking his feet out of the crib bars in his sleep. With the Gorillapod, I can easily get the camera at just the right angle, use a long exposure time, and get a perfectly clear and focused picture.

The Gorillapod is a strong and flexible tripod, it will hold your camera onto anything. Tomorrow we’re going on a ski lift ride up at Sundance, and I’ll be taking my camera, hooking in onto the side of the ski lift chair, and taking a picture of our family, mid-flight. I’m not too worried about the camera plunging to its death below, because that Gorillapod keeps its grip like an iron fist.

If you need a tripod, go with the Gorillapod – you’ll be able to get photos from great angles. Toodles!
