*tri-FACTa* Fact Family Arithmetic Triangle Game

Math is a language like any other with vocabulary, rules, fluency, and so many uses and benefits! Playing math games gives kids a deeper grasp on the inner-workings of the language of numbers. Worksheets can help kids memorize, but do they help kids understand?? Not so much.

tri-FACTa uses the triangle shape to helps kids visualize fact family relationships and how to manipulate and move numbers around to make true statements. 5+4=9 and 9-5=4, etc. Getting this concept of number groupings into the physical and tactile world helps understanding go deeper.

Most kids love puzzles, and arithmetic is just one big fun puzzle! Making number sentences in this competitive and collaborative way makes math practice so much fun! Even my littles, who are still learning their math facts, enjoy playing around with numbers and working together to make true statements.  Older children can teach and help younger children in a meaningful way that helps both to gain confidence, skills, and fluency.

One of the best parts of this game is the self-checking that is required. Look closely and think . . . is that number sentence true?  Yes!

Physically moving the numbers around to find a correct solution is a great way to use multiple senses for hands-on learning.

Finding correct solutions is exciting!  Big brother is irked. That happens . . . :)

Math is fun, and these kids know it!!

Learning math through play is the way to go, and tri-FACTa is a solid game for practice, perfection, and partying, and there’s a multiplication/division version that we need to get too! Thanks to Learning Resources for helping us love math!
