Bubbles!!!

Blowing bubbles is one of the world’s greatest family activities. We went to the park last weekend to blow some bubbles with Joel and we all had a great time. I took some fabulous pictures to help inspire you to get out the wand and bubble solution and get light headed!

Seriously, kids love bubbles, and the important thing when planning family activities (which you do have to do or else they won’t happen) is to do something that everyone enjoys. After all, relationships are built and strengthened when there are two or more people doing something together that they all enjoy.

Get creative and try using unique objects for your bubble wands. You could try a small cookie cutter or a key ring? I would think that anything narrow and small enough would work.

And don’t forget the camera. An SLR works best because you need that fast shutter speed to catch the kids in action (I love my Canon Rebel XSi) but if you just have a point-and-shoot, try fiddling with the settings to increase the shutter speed for the best results.

Above all, HAVE FUN! Laughter is good for you (you need at least 5 minutes a day), so be silly and have fun.

I love the photos! My son loves bubbles too. You can never have too many kinds of wands. It is fun to show them how to use their hands as bubble blowers too. They will think you can do magic. What Mom couldn’t use a little magic, right?

I think I love bubbles as much as little kids do!!! I remember for youth conference one year (I think it was about 10 years ago) we had a bubble bash in a park! The whole entire park was filled with bubbles up to our waists! Just imagine hundreds of people running around in bubbles! It was definately a wonderful experience!

My 3 1/2 year old daughter, Sydney, LOVES to go outside and blow bubbles…we have so much fun in our backyard :) FYI…I was in CVS/Pharmacy a few days ago and all of their summer items were on clearance for 75% – 90% off, including bubbles! I bought four huge spill-proof containers for $1.25 each that will make many happy memories for us both!

Your pictures brought back meemories of playing with my little ones with bubbles. It is funny how they love bubble so much. It was inexpensive and they loved it so much. I am now looking forward to the kids graduating college, settling down, and giving me grandbabies to love on – and yes- blow bubbles with. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

My children are grown but I remember how much they loved blowing bubbles. I hope someone has come up with a solution to the one problem we always had…spilling the bottle of bubbles! We usually had several bottles, but eventually they were all gone and then the tears would start! I’ll have to cruise the isle and see what’s new.

My neighborhood had a bubble party this summer. It was all kinds of fun, though my daughter didn’t love it so much. She kept trying to catch the bubbles and put them in her pocket. Poor kid couldn’t figure out what happened to all her pretty bubbles! Cute pictures!

Thanks for the reminder that I need to get bubbles. My daughter loves them but we haven’t had them at home for a long time!
