Consignment Selling

I took some clothes to a local clothing consignment shop to see what would come of it, and I was pleasantly surprised. Four or five of my tops sold and I made almost $13. This place is called Cozy Closet, and I’m going to take some more stuff to her this week.

I’ve tried Plato’s Closet, another used clothing store. They sell gently used brand name clothing and they pay you up front for it. I’ve never been able to sell anything to them because they are really picky about how old the item is, even if it’s in good condition and a current style. I know Plato’s Closet has locations all over the US, so that’s a good option for people not in Utah.

I like to sell my stuff to Cozy Closet, but when I’m looking for clothing to buy I prefer Plato’s Closet. I’ve found tons of great stuff there for awesome prices for both me and my husband – if you’ve never been there, you should go. The only thing I don’t like about them is the loud blaring obnoxious music they play. Did I mention that it’s loud? It’s sooo loud.

Back to getting rid of stuff – Giving your old clothing to charity is a good thing, but if you’re wanting to get something back for an item that was expensive, or if you have baby clothes in good shape, try consignment. Knowing I can sell my clothing has given me more motivation to clean out my closet!
