Shop Like A Man

To convince my husband to come shopping with me I don’t tell him all the stops I intend to make, because if he knew, he would most definitely refuse to come. Or he will try to refuse – he’s not very good at refusing. He will do almost anything for me if he knows it will make me happy. He’s such a good husband! Fortunately I don’t take advantage of him…very often.

Anyway, the other day we had this situation. We had a few stops planned, and on our way home I told my husband I really wanted to make a quick shoe shopping stop for Joel since he’s walking now. Can I just say that the price of baby shoes is an absolute outrage? $15?!? FOR BABY SHOES?!? I can’t get over it.

So he agreed to stop at Ross because I promised, “This time, I really will hurry. I will ONLY look at baby shoes.” I usually say that, and I try to, I really do, but I just get distracted. But this time, I did it! How? The baby shoes are on the back wall of the store, so I just kept my eyes glued to that wall. I didn’t look at everything I passed on the way there like I usually do.

So that’s my discovery. I can’t look at everything in the store, because I will stop and touch it. And that takes much longer than it seems. This is why men can shop quickly, because they have a one track mind – baby shoes, baby shoes, baby shoes.

So that’s it. A real revelation, I know.
