Weekend Projects…

Here’s what I’m working on this weekend:

moda sugar pop quilting fabric

1. Moda Sugar Pop Quilt

Moda sent me some samples of their new line called Sugar Pop, and I took out the blues/greens/browns to make a coin quilt that I’m loving so far. I have the layout all figured, I just need to start sewing!

2. Hat

I’m just about finished up with my first ever knitted hat with cables. They were not nearly as intimidating as I let them be… the pattern is from Hattitude and I used Susan Bates Quicksilver circulars (one of my faves).

3. Another Hat

This one I actually have finished already, but I am in love with it. The pattern is from my favorite hat knitting book, HatHeads, and I used Susan Bates Quicksilver and Addi Turbo circular and straight needles.

If I can get the quilt top sewn and my hat finished in one weekend, it will be a happy miracle…

What are you working on this weekend?

I will be working crocheting another baby earflap hat! I made one for my daughter and now everyone wants one! I also need to make and send out my Christmas thank you cards. I was thinking about getting back into knitting too. Not this weekend though, I’m in my last semester of classes for my bachelor, I think I’ll pick up knitting after graduation!

I’m glad everyone liked your hats! And knitting is so relaxing, and after finishing a bachelor’s you’ll need a relaxing hobby. Have fun!

Aren’t cables fun? I shied away from them for the longest time because I thought they looked scary. Also, very cute quilt!

that will be a nice quilt! My dad is buying me a sewing machine for my graduation present… do you have a recommendation? I’ve only used one a handful of times, dont some of them do embroidery?

Currently, working on and finishing my daughter’s 3rd birthday present. We are finally into baby dolls this year and I’m making her a little diaper bag with accessories! :) So cute!

I love the cable hat! I am working on some blankets for two newborn babies this weekend.

I love the Sugar Pop quilt especially!
I just finished making a mouse pad based on Amanda Blake Soule’s idea in her book Handmade Home. I used 3 different fabrics and some interfacing to make a thin pad about 8 by 8 inches. I would tell more but I have a kid on my lap as I’m writing this! :)

Love that Sugar Pop fabric. Never quilted myself so have no idea what a coin quilt is. Have done some knitting and crocheting but it’s been a few years. You certainly have lot of interesting topics and ideas to share with your blog readers…to say nothing of the great giveaways you come up with also. Will be anxious to see a pic when your quilt is finished.
